This position will support the Co-Director of theVanderbilt Center for Neuroscience Drug Discovery (VCNDD) and work closely withthe VCNDD Administrative Team. This individual will be responsiblefor travel, complex calendar maintenance, and other administrative duties inour Cool Springs location. The Center depends on its ability to attractfunding from outside contributors, including very high profile donors,foundations and granting agencies in order to continue with this important work. Itis therefore crucial for this incumbent to handle all travel and calendararrangements for everyone involved with aplomb and accuracy. This individualmust work independently, often making critical decisions for the Co-Director. Theindividual must be extremely well organized, able to work well under pressure,able to be proactive and a forward thinker. Expert in written andverbal communicate skills, strong independent decision making ability, andpaying attention to detail is extremely important. It is crucialthat this individual maintain a high level of confidentiality andprofessionalism in this role.
Every major advance in medicine starts withfundamental discoveries that teach us how living organisms work in both healthand disease. These discoveries are made in biomedical sciences laboratoriesthat study life at all levels from the individual molecules that encodeheredity to the complex associations of cells that form tissues and organs.Vanderbilt Basic Sciences is a tightly integrated research and educationdivision within the School of Medicine comprising four academic departments,eight interdisciplinary centers, twenty-seven service core facilities, and theOffice of Biomedical Research, Education, and Training.

Duties and responsibilities
Organize extensive and extremely complex travel, including foreign travel for Center Co-Director to include:
Scheduling complex itineraries for both internal and external individuals
Coordinating and creating expense report after travel concludes
Conference room scheduling
Coordinate recruiting visits to include agenda, travel arrangements, meals, on-site needs
Coordinate site visits to include agendas and travel arrangements for very high profile potential investors in the VCNDD
Coordinate faculty meetings and center leadership meetings to include agenda preparation
Working with multiple groups to ensure events are planned and executed successfully
Manage key access and ID badge security for Cool Springs location
Update Center website/twitter accounts as needed
Maintain extremely complex calendar for Co-Director
Complex meeting scheduling to include internal and external invites
Arrange teleconferences as requested for internal and external collaborators
Provide overall administrative support for day to day activities of VCNDD Co-Director
Assist with patent signatures as needed; working with Tech Transfer to obtain documents
Manage and order supplies for Cool Springs location
Profile ofan Ideal Candidate
High School Diploma or GED required
Three years of experience is preferred
Strong organizational skills are strongly preferred
Attention to detail is strongly preferred

Perform as a team player with other administrative and research staff to meet ongoing needs of the VCNDD
