This AdministrativeManager of Operations position is part of the Campus Dining program withinBusiness Services at Vanderbilt University and will partner with seniorleadership to provide employee services program development, project managementand oversight over performance management; create and sustain positive employeeengagement programs to enhance communication between management and our hourlyteam members. This role will direct and initiate HR transactions inOracle Cloud to support the entire employee lifecycle (position creations,promotions, compensation changes, reclassifications, job changes, leaves ofabsence, terminations, etc.). Maintain an extensive understanding ofOracle HR functions and related connection with Oracle financial functions. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Campus Dining, theAdministrative Manager of Operations, will interact with all Campus Diningleaders and other partners across campus.

OurDining program is highly decorated, the winner of many prestigious awards inthe food service industry, including Best On-Site Food Service Operation in theNation, Best Food Service Operator, the prestigious Ivy Award, and manymore. We have 4 main dining centers, 10 restaurants and cafes, 6convenience stores, and we employ over 300 unionized employees and100+ part-time student employees.
Forge partnerships and communicate with all levels of employees, management and business partners to provide guidance, counseling and training.
Champion new initiatives and employee programs that advance and promote Dining Services culture and core values.
Acts as a liaison between department managers and union stewards/representatives in coordination with University HR.
Work with University HR to inform leaders and front-line employees regarding policies, values, HR programs.
Assisting in the diagnosing of organizational issues, the development of solutions and the implementation of action plans.
Coaching managers and supervisors regarding personnel practices, policy and employment laws.
Directs employment and on-boarding process, in collaboration with supervisor and central HR, to ensure an efficient and smooth process in accordance with all applicable university policies and procedures.
Work with management to design and manage employee training programs necessary for team members to be successful in their roles.
Lead and fully execute key HR initiatives that support Dining Services long term goals and strategy.
Partner with leadership teams on performance management to develop talent pipeline and succession plans.
Work with leadership and management to design performance standards and ensure they are communicated and managed to ensure long term success of the department.
Assist Campus Dining management in the resolution of personnel issues including employee counseling, payroll, discipline and coaching, collective bargaining agreement and departmental compliance in consultation with University HR.
Serve as the area resource on absence and leave management and reporting, including FMLA for Dining staff.
Serves as HCM specialist for Campus Dining and processes staff and student employee transactions in Oracle Cloud. Including the initiation of HR transactions in Oracle Cloud to support the entire employee lifecycle.
Maintain department organizational chart incorporating all staff changes
Audit payroll, timekeeping and absence management processes
Assist with training operational managers on the interpretation and implementation of language in the collective bargaining agreement
Ensure University compliance of record keeping which includes monitoring schedules, overtime rosters, leave management tracking, timekeeping and disciplinary action forms.
Builds and maintains strong working relationships and with University HR team members.
Participates in recurring meetings, training and round table discussions to allow opportunities for HCM Specialists across campus to learn from each other.
Ensures that employee inquiries and concerns are handled quickly, equitably, with courteous resolution.
Displays an awareness of and urgency around meeting deadlines and related employee impact.
Accepts responsibility; addresses problems rather than allowing unresolved issues to fester; models willingness to contribute above and beyond the call of duty.

This position hassupervisory responsibility for up to 2 direct reports; this position reportsadministratively and functionally to the Executive Director of Campus Dining.
Profile of an IdealCandidate:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resource management or related field is necessary.
Five years of relevant experience is necessary.
Previous experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
Ability to handle various human resources issues and concerns effectively while maintaining confidentiality is necessary.
Experience in designing and delivering successful employee engagement programs is preferred.
Previous experience working in a high volume environment and dealing with stressful situations is necessary.
Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skill, relevant technical and functional expertise, leadership and personal effectiveness is necessary.
Multi task management, quality assurance and customer relations skills is necessary.
Intermediate computer skills and working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Power Point is necessary.
